I Ching
You come to the Book of Changes not with a dry question, but with a question-wish—what you sincerely carry in your heart. Write it down and trust the coins.
Six throws build the hexagram from the bottom up. Each time you cast three coins: heads count as 3, tails as 2. Even totals (6 or 8) draw a broken Yin line; odd totals (7 or 9) draw a solid Yang line.
The first hexagram describes the present—how things stand at the moment of your question. Yet when 6 or 9 appear among the results, the reading stirs into motion. These are changing lines: having reached their peak, they turn into their opposite and shape a second hexagram—the image of what the situation may become.
If every line falls stable (7 or 8), no second figure arises: the answer lives wholly in the here and now.
Line by line, a wise interpretation will unfold before you. And this conversation will remain only between you and the Book of Changes.
